About Jacob
Hello and thank you for taking an interest in me and my golf game. My name Is Jacob Roffe and I am from Berkeley, CA and in the class of 2027 at Berkeley High School. My strengths on the golf course are my driver and putter. I enjoy hitting long drives off the tee and making perfect reads on the greens. I love golf because it always offers you a new challenge no matter what skill level you are in the game. Whether that be swing, or score, you always want to find something to improve. I really enjoy the competitive aspect of golf as well, whether that be team matches, playing with friends, or against the course. I also like to play golf because it teaches you to be calm in the face of pressure. When playing matches with my friends or in tournaments I love to face that pressure and play well in it. In college, I think that I am going to either study psychology or math, since I like to learn about those subjects in school. I’m excited about the chance to play golf in college and bring my skills, and work ethic, to a college golf program.

A note from his Coach
He may have made the decision to pursue college golf a little later than some, but since I’ve worked with him, his dedication, commitment, and work ethic have been second to none.
Over the past two years, I’ve watched him work incredibly hard to take his game from shooting in the 80s, to consistently breaking into the 70s, and now posting scores under par. That kind of improvement doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a reflection of how seriously he takes his game and how willing he is to put in the work required to get better.
He’s become a great golfer, but what stands out to me even more is the person he is. He’s coachable, committed, and a great young man to be around. I believe he would be a tremendous addition to a college golf program, both as a player and as a teammate.
